This is The Lovedub – our 1966 VW Splitscreen Kombi with the roof removed. We spent all last year restoring, customizing and preparing her. Now she’s available to hire for weddings, civil partnerships, school proms, films, promotional work and special occasions.
We prefer to hire her out locally. We charge £480 for a wedding or civil partnership in the Brighton area.
We may also arrange a hire within a 100 mile radius of Brighton, but we have to charge a minimum extra 50% for transportation costs.

The most unusual commission we’ve had for the Lovedub so far has to be the annual Gay Pride Parade in Brighton.
I towed a float for the Gay Pride Shop. To liven things up a bit, we invited various drag queens who were passing by to sit in the back.
Our dear old Lovedub enjoys the attention, and she performed admirably – towing a float at 5mph, and stopping and starting constantly, is as bad as being in London rush-hour traffic. Of course, at 41 years old she is in her prime, and she didn’t falter,
Of all the floats in the parade, we were probably the most interactive with the crowds; everyone likes to be photographed next to the Lovedub.
I think Soraya was worried the drag queens might have got me…
In the weeks before the Parade, the Lovedub was used to advertise the event in Churchill Square.
What I particularly liked about it was that it was not so much just a gay celebration, but definitely a Brighton celebration. Brighton is an incredible place to live and the crowds were amazing.

Why not get married in Brighton?
After living here for the past 4 years, I don’t think we could live anywhere else.
It’s certainly the ideal place to drive around in a Splitscreen Roadster.
And it’s a great location for a party.

The Lovedub made her debut at Volksworld Show at Sandown Park, Surrey, on 24th March in her new lilac colour.

1960 KRAUSE PICOLLO TRUMPF
Out there in the wild and wacky world of vintage vehicle collections, there are some that just shouldn’t have been made in the first place.
The 49cc Krause Picollo Trumpf is a Chimera, a mythological beast like the griffon, sphinx or dragon, combining the attributes of many species.
Is it a scooter? Is it a triporteur? Is it a moped?
The terrifying chimeras lived in the imagination of ancient man. But our children should be afraid – because the Picollo Trumpf is much more real, and may occasionally be spotted lurking within the pages of my other websites.
